PARENT GUIDE · BEDTIME
Why personalised bedtime stories become family favourites
Bedtime reading works because it happens again and again. A personalised story adds recognition to that routine while keeping the pace and language of a real picture book.
Keep the routine predictable
Read in the same comfortable order: settle, look at the cover, read the pages, then close the book. Predictability helps children shift into listening.
Let your child control the repeat
The page they request again is useful information. Repetition is how young children practise language, sequence and emotional understanding.
Use audio as an invitation
Read-along audio can support independent listening, but the shared voice of a parent remains the most important part of storytime.
